Austin Texas Independence Day Parade

Every child loves a parade! Take part in the celebration of Texas independence from Mexico. On March 2, 1836, Texas severed ties with Mexico and became a free and independent republic. Although Texas independence was short-lived (less than 10 years later Texas joined the Union), any Texan will tell you, a streak of independence still runs strong and deep. And that is a reason to celebrate. Location: Congress Ave., Austin. For more information, visit Celebrate Texas website.
